The Earth Charter Preamble – The Vision of the Earth Charter in Irish

The beautiful, inspiring introduction of the Earth Charter is above.

The official ISO standard Irish translation was completed 18 June 2025 by Irish artist, Gaeilgeoir and mother, Phoebe Cope.

It was launched at an Earth Charter talk, hosted by the County Carlow Environmental Network and An Gairdin Beo, The Living Community Garden, Carlow town with Dr Cathy Fitzgerald and US Professor Emeritas Peter Blaze Corcoran (in attendance via a webinar).

Cathy Fitzgerald presented the Irish translation of behalf of all people living in Ireland and for the Irish diaspora, at the 25th celebrations of the Earth Charter, 1 July 2025, at The Hague, The Netherlands.
